Seasonal Photo Calendar ideas & inspiration
Want to create your own Photo Calendar but not sure where to start? That’s what we’re here for! We’ve put together some inspiration for you to create a personalised calendar that follows a theme: the four seasons. Fill your calendar with favourite photos that reflect Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter and relive unforgettable moments throughout the year in your very own seasonal wall calendar.
Top tip: If you don’t have suitable photos already, set yourself a challenge across the next year to take a themed photo each month that reflects the time of year – arrange themed photoshoots, such as Easter, Halloween and Christmas, for a truly personalised calendar that matches the month. Share to your social media with a unique hashtag so that you can easily go back through your 12 photos and create your seasonal calendar for the following year.
If you’ve got photos ready to go, it’s not too late to create your personalised four season calendar to give as a meaningful gift this Christmas. Read on for our ideas, tips and inspiration on which pictures suit each month of the year.
January – March: Winter wonderland
Reflect the Winter season in your personalised photo calendar for January, February and March. Christmas may be over, but as the New Year rolls around, the cold, wintry scenes truly start to kick in. Pick your favourite snowy and wintry landscape shots to enjoy throughout these cooler months. Maybe you went on a ski trip or winter holiday in a previous year? Or you practised your wildlife photography skills and captured a robin in the snow? Whatever the scene, these first three months are perfect to showcase your impressive wintry photos and relive your favourite memories. A personalised desk calendar like the one in the picture below is perfect for placing above a fireplace or in the kitchen throughout the festive season.
April – May: Spring into life
As we approach the end of March, we start to see the days getting longer, nights getting shorter, in addition to the abundance of growth and regeneration that comes with Spring. For your calendar months of April and May, think of all things new. A favourite of ours is to display cute photos of a recent addition to the family, be it a newborn baby or of the furry kind! It’s sure to put a smile on your face each time you come to check your Photo Calendar throughout the whole month.
Another great idea we love is to hold an Easter-themed photoshoot with your children that will feature for April – it will bring back fun memories of your shoot and will make a thoughtful addition to your personalised calendar, especially if you’re gifting one to the grandparents! Alternatively, if you’re a budding nature photographer, showcase your impressive photography of colourful Spring flowers, like daffodils, bluebells and tulips – perfect to brighten up any room and match the season.
Top tip: We recommend using pastel colours for any added text and Clipart, such as yellows, light blues and light greens to reflect the Spring tones.
June – August: Feeling hot, hot, hot!
Few things are more worthy of your travel calendar inspiration as the adventures brought on by summer. The sun is shining, the weather is warmer, you’ve got your sunglasses on and sipping a refreshing drink by the pool – it’s the sound of Summer! Bring the summer vibes into any room or office with bright, colourful photos for June, July and August in your personalised Photo Calendar. These months are perfect for reminiscing on favourite trips to hotter climes or reliving happy summer memories with friends and family. Your summery photos are sure to take you back to that warm, sunny memory each time you check your personalised seasonal wall calendar.
September – October: Fall for Autumn
Showcase your best autumn photography for September and October in your photo calendar. Think autumnal hues of orange, brown, yellow and burgundy in your shots, whether it’s in your clothing or a part of the scenery. If you’re into nature photography, make the most of capturing fallen leaves and play around with reflection photography during golden hour to make the colours pop. Check out our blog on Easy Autumn Photo Ideas for more tips and inspiration for capturing that perfect autumnal shot!
Top tip: For October, why not get creative with pumpkins? Bang on trend and relevant to the season, a visit to a local pumpkin patch or a carving session with the kids will go down a treat in your seasonal photo calendar!
November: Add sparkle to your calendar
Although November is technically the final month of Autumn, we feel it marks the start of the Winter season. The days are much shorter and the cold weather begins to kick in, yet there is still a buzz of excitement that surrounds this month in the run up to Christmas and the end of the year. We recommend reflecting the tradition of Bonfire Night for this month’s feature, choosing impressive firework photos you may have captured from previous years.
You can create your own sparkler photography in preparation for next years calendar that will be sure to impress all who see your seasonal photo calendar. Check out our blog on Sparkler Photography 101 for more ideas to capture your best shots. The dark background mixed with the brightness of the sparkler will really light up the month.
December: Feeling festive
It’s no doubt that December is the best month to showcase your favourite festive photos! Whether it’s a group shot of the family in their Christmas pyjamas or of the presents under the tree, December is perfect to make use of these photos in your seasonal wall calendar. Organise your Christmas social events and important dates for December with a Christmas-themed photo that is sure to get you into the festive spirit and finish the year off with joy.
